Celebrating the 12 year anniversary of my strange encounter with Russell Brand at the El Capitan Theatre on December 6th, 2010. I’m pretty sure this was my only red carpet for a Shakespeare movie. I always enjoy talking to filmmakers about their craft, and it was fun to see Jadin Gould and Tommy Davidson again.
This guy LOVES Christmas music, so it’s only fitting that he’s our featured artist for the month of December. He’s recorded two whole albums of just Christmas songs, plus an EP of Christmas songs in Spanish. Ten years ago, I attended this fun event on the Santa Monica Pier, benefiting Children Uniting Nations. Not only did I get to talk to some of my favorite people, like Alyson Stoner, Ashley Argota and Booboo and Fivel, but I also met a lot of music artists and actors for the first time, like MAX and Aaron Fresh.
This week we’re celebrating the 16th anniversary of the red carpet for Happy Feet, which took place at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on November 12th, 2006.
This was my second time interviewing Robin Williams. He was always so gracious to give me just as much time as the more seasoned interviewers. It was great meeting E.G. Daily, Amy Yasbeck, and of course, Brittany Murphy.

The first ever red carpet movie premiere happened in Hollywood on this date 100 years ago! We’re celebrating this day by looking back at my very first red carpet, for Herbie: Fully Loaded, at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood a little over 17 years ago.
Back in 2005, I was just 8 years old. Although I was pretty nervous, I think it turned out great. Some people didn’t know what to make of this tiny girl reporter at a big Hollywood event, but just about everybody was as nice as they could be. Looking back, it’s pretty incredible that I got to interview Michael Keaton my first time out. Justin Long was so nice, and Thomas Lennon was so funny. It was my first time (of many) talking to Aly & AJ, who were always so sweet! I’ve done many more red carpets at the El Capitan, and learned more with each event, but this one will always be extra special to me.
I first met Judy twelve years ago at a Halloween event for charity. A couple of years later, I interviewed her at the Hooray for Hollywood event honoring Carol Burnett, in 2013. She was nice and she was funny, and she will be missed.
I’ve been a big fan of Nightmare Before Christmas for a long time, and I actually got to meet the man responsible for the music I love so much. In 2007 we were touring around the US in our mobile studio, broadcasting the Smart Family Show from a different state each week. We returned to LA several times throughout the year to report on red carpets, and this was one of them. I enjoyed speaking with the cast and filmmakers, along with special guests, including Disney Channel actors. There is a post-credit scene, so watch till the end!
In honor of International Talk Like a Pirate Day, here are my three red carpet reports for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies (2, 3 and 4). I had a fun time covering these and met so many wonderful people – from filmmakers and cast to so many celebrities who walked the red carpet. These events are especially near and dear to my heart because I first met Miley Cyrus (Pirates 2) and Selena Gomez (Pirates 3) at these events, and they were so kind and generous over the years to keep chatting with this (very) young red carpet reporter. Avast me hearties, yo ho!
