Sammi Hanratty is no stranger to the big and small screen, booking her first lead in a television movie starring opposite Lacey Chabert and Wendie Malick in ABC Family’s Hello Sister, Goodbye Life. Sammi quickly built her resume with three concurrent recurring roles on ABC’s Pushing Daisies (Young Chuck), The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (Holly), and CBS’ The Unit with her older sister Danielle.

Sammi’s success is not limited to her television career. She has remained in demand by starring in numerous feature films including two upcoming movies where she played lead characters: The Lost Medallion: The Adventures of Billy Stone, shot entirely on location in Thailand, and The Greening of Whitney Brown, playing the title character alongside Brooke Shields, Aidan Quinn, and Kris Kristofferson. Hanratty has also shared the big screen with some of Hollywood’s finest including Cuba Gooding Jr, Ray Liotta, Jim Carrey, Colin Firth, Gary Oldman, Robin Wright and Cary Elwes. She worked with Oscar winning director Robert Zemeckis in the blockbuster, Disney’s A Christmas Carol, in which she had the opportunity to play several different characters.

It was a beautiful day for a movie about gorgeous birds set in the vibrant city of Rio. I talked to the stars about plumage and parades. It was great to see Sammi and Ryan again – some of my red carpet favorites. It was an honor to meet Sergio Mendes, the genius behind the infectious music in the movie. And, of course, it’s always a pleasure talking with George Lopez!

On the red carpet for Mars Needs Moms, I kept hearing the question, “What would you do if your mom was kidnapped by martians?” Instead, I asked people – like Bailee Madison, Cody Simpson, Matt Timmons and Sammi Hanratty – what they would do if their mom actually WAS a martian.

Since Milo complains about his mom constantly asking him to take out the trash and eat his broccoli, I thought I’d check with the stars to see what their moms nag them about most…

I LOVE this movie! If you haven’t seen it, you really should. It was fun doing the red carpet, because Madeline Carroll had been talking to me about this movie for so long, and she was so excited for people to finally see it. The cast is great, and it was wonderful to meet Rob Reiner. I hope you enjoy the movie as much as I did!

It was a rare rainy day in Hollywood, but the carpet was tented and lots of people came out. It was great seeing friends like Ryan Ochoa and Sammi Hanratty, and fun talking to Jack Black and T.J. Miller again.
